Dr. Mark Levine gave the presentation “Energy Efficiency Investments in China: Large? Small? Excellent prospects? Too many barriers?” at the US-China Clean Energy Forum on Financing Energy Efficiency in China

[23 September, 2011] [September 23, 2011] Mark Levine gave the presentation entitled “Energy Efficiency Investments in China: Large? Small? Excellent prospects? Too many barriers?” at the US-China Clean Energy Forum on Financing Energy Efficiency in China organized by the Energy Foundation on February 23, 2010. In this presentation Dr. Levine highlighted the dramatic increase in energy efficiency investment in China. The fund disbursed by the central government grew from $1.4B in 2007 to $5.6B in 2009 with high prospects for a continuation of high growth continuing in the future. $1B of the funds in 2009 were used as incentives for industrial enterprises to invest in energy efficiency This $1B government program was matched by the enterprises at 15:1. That is, the fund resulted in $15B of industrial investment in energy efficiency.
