A delegation from China’s National Energy Conservation Center and local energy conservation centers visited the China Energy Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) on September 2nd, 2015. Mr. Wang Shancheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) led the delegation team. The delegation was on a study tour to learn about energy efficiency policies and technologies in the U.S.
Chuck Goldman, Director of the Energy Analysis and Environmental Impacts Division at LBNL and Lynn Price, Group Leader of the China Energy Group introduced Berkeley Lab, the Division and the China Energy Group. Then Chuck Goldman gave a presentation on US energy efficiency policies, which covered the U.S. energy service company industry, energy performance contracts in the U.S., energy efficiency financing, etc. Mr. Wang from NDRC also summarized ten key areas of China’s energy efficiency efforts. The delegation expressed their strong interest to collaborate with the lab on energy efficiency. They were also given a tour in the Facility for Low Energy Experiments in Buildings (FLEXLAB®).
