Xin Wang

Xin Wang is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Tsinghua University. As the recipient of a Tsinghua Scholarship for his Overseas Graduate Studies, Mr. Wang is a visiting scholar in the China Energy Group, Energy Analysis & Environmental Impacts Department, at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Mr. Wang is now working on his Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering. He began his career by conducting the identification of carbon leakage at the sector level in China. Furthermore, his Ph.D. thesis will focus on the modeling research relating to China’s non-CO2 GHGs emissions towards 2050, as well as the cost-benefit analysis of collaborative multi-gas reduction strategies.

Throughout his stay with the China Energy Group from May to September of 2016, his research will focus on a strengthened scrutiny for carbon leakage in China to align electricity market reform with the synergy among various climate policy instruments, such as emission trading scheme and carbon tax.
